Canines

Dogs have been man’s companion animals for millennia. But even now stray dogs wander the streets, many have gone feral, and packs of these canines pose yet another threat for anyone caught out late and alone in the less populated areas of civilisation. These statistics are for large, actually dangerous dogs; use them for other dog-related animals like dingoes, hyenas, or jackals.

Humanoids

The Draug

Created through rituals conducted by the Cult of the Depths. During the ritual a lesser sea spirit associated with the causes the victim to drown as seawater fills their lungs. As the victim slowly suffocates, the spirit takes root within their body. If the victim survives the ritual, they slowly transform into a hybrid half-fish, half-man creature. If the victim dies, the spirit instead uses the body as an incubator, creating itself a black, lamprey-like body that bursts out of the corpse after several days.

This lamprey-like worm then seeks out a second flesh host which, one it has inhabited, undergoes a rapid transformation process inside a pod with a clam-like exterior formed from a mucus-like excretion from the spirit. What emerges is a humanoid creature with clammy, puckered blue-grey skin and lifeless grey eyes. Variation exists between these creatures, including crab-like shells, tentacles, and the likes. The creatures appear to perceive the world through a form of vibration-based sonar, and can vomit up vast quantities of water to drown their prey (during this process, the lamprey-like spirit can be seen within the host creature’s throat).
